With the first meeting of academics, scientists and other professionals was inaugurated the new National Center for Artificial Intelligence (CENIA). Fifty guests participated in the ceremony, held at the headquarters of Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB), in Antonio Varas Street.
CENIA’s President, Alvaro Soto Arriaza, presented the project -which was the winner of the 28 consortiums that entered the official competition of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation- to an international jury consisting of one hundred people.
He then described the Vision of transforming Chile into a cornerstone for the development of Artificial Intelligence in Latin America and the Mission of contributing to improve the quality of life of all of them. He stressed the Vocation of the new national center to promote excellence, the exchange of ideas, the promotion of talent and the search for sustainable and ethical technological progress, in harmony with the environment and human development.
To carry out the project, it was divided into Research, Technology Transfer and Information Distribution.
